Anaventura has moved

June 30th, 2006

If you’re reading this you already know that we’ve moved anaventura from the original site (hosted on a machine where David teaches) to the family server. It’s been a year since the last posts. That’s not to say that things haven’t happened–they have. There have been many ups and downs, happiness and tears.

ana What is significant is that here we are, one year out, and Ana is healthy, I hope she’s happy, and we’re all surviving, even thriving. In something like 28 hours we will leave our home in Vermont for 6 weeks in Mexico, and then on for a year in Spain with Ana’s family. It’s exciting and yet not without some sadness. This past year has seen a deepening of our friendships with folks here in Shoreham and Middlebury. Our friends have become good friends, our good friends, even closer.

I don’t know where this blog will go from here. I’m hopeful Ana will pick it up and her personal ‘aventura’ will continue to be documented as she goes home for the first extended stay in almost 20 years. I know I’m along for the ride…

No chemo!!!!!!!/ Sin quimio!!!!!!!

June 13th, 2005
  • Maravillosas noticias!

  • Wonderful news! Ana called me a while ago, before leaving to Vermont (today I had to be back at work in my hospital so I wasn’t with her) and she told me about her appointment with the oncologist: the favorable features of her tumor make chemo unnecessary, hormone therapy will be enough to prevent recurrences. I had the feeling that could be the case, but I can’t express how happy I am to confirm that feeling. Bravo!!!!!!! Also, Ana is on her way home without drains, with growing strength and with a scheduled appointment next week in order to remove her stitches. Thank you all for your positive energies, prayers, plegaries, etc, that have obviously worked. Ana, welcome home, and to you all kisses from burning Cambridge.

By the way, let’s keep it up, we’re still in need to read about your news and your joy expressions!
